THE DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL is a story about female sexuality and unabashed optimism. Told from the point of view of fifteen-year old Minnie, Diary tells the story of her growing up in the chaos of the 1970s, in the haze that is San Francisco. Minnie is incredibly bright and self-reflective. She is gut-wrenchingly honest, and curious about the world around her. And she has just begun an affair with her mother’s boyfriend, Monroe. Ouch.
Marielle Heller adapted The Diary of a Teenage Girl from the 2002 graphic novel of the same name by Guggenheim Fellow Phoebe Gloeckner, and the production stars Heller (Peninsula, Continental Divide), Jon Krupp (16 Spells to Charm the Beast), Michael Laurence (Desire Under the Elms, Talk Radio, and Drama Desk Nominee for Outstanding Solo Performance in Krapp, 39 ), Mariann Mayberry (August: Osage County, Metamorphoses), and Nell Mooney (No. 11 Blue and White).

and old wounds, barrels through an evening of rivalries and revelations, with a side of light kidnapping.
